MARCH

Lecture: Thursday, March 15, 2012 7:00 PM
Bruce Scofield, PhD
2012 – We are here – Venus transit, Sunspots, and the Maya Madness!

bruce-scofield.jpg (52792 bytes)

This year marks a transition point in the Maya Long Count, a 5,125-year grouping of Jupiter-Saturn cycles. Given the astronomical basis of the "Mayan Calendar" one can conclude it is a kind of mundane astrology probably best interpreted by those somewhat familiar with that subject. Also this year a rare transit of Venus across the face of the Sun will occur along with an expected peaking of solar activity shown by high sunspot counts. The level of misunderstanding in regard to Maya astrology and prophecy is matched by the level of hysteria surrounding the supposed 2012 deadline. Are these calendrical and astronomical events meaningful and should we be prepared in any way?

Bruce Scofield, an astrological consultant for over 40 years, has authored seven books and numerous articles on astrology and frequently speaks at conferences. He has served on the education committee of NCGR since 1979 as both member and director. He holds an M.A. in history, a Ph.D. in geosciences, and teaches at Kepler College and UMASS.

APRIL

Lecture: Thursday, April 19, 2012 7:00 PM
Eric Meyers
Evolutionary and Spiritual Astrology in the 21st Century

Evolutionary astrology is the study of how astrology pertains to our spiritual growth. Most astrology addresses how we are, our personality, tendencies, orientation. Evolutionary astrology seeks to understand why we are the way we are. The soul level is the primary focus--the personality is secondary, and seen as a tool to carry out the spiritual work. Eric will present an overview of the trends, books, and resources available to assist students in further study.

Workshop: Saturday, April 21, 2012 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
Eric Meyers - Elements and Evolution: A New Classification of the Elements

Fisk Hall, Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT

Register Online

We will explore the evolutionary purposes of the major aspects to more fully comprehend the great cycle around the zodiac.

Eric Meyers is both a counseling astrologer and author of 4 books. Graduated from Naropa University with a degree in Transpersonal Psychology, his astrological focus relates to Spiritual Awakening. He is considered an Evolutionary Astrologer.
